# How-To:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F.
02 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and jalapeño; sauté for 1 minute.
03 - Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5–6 minutes.
04 - Stir in cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
05 - Spread tortilla chips on a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter. Evenly distribute the spiced beef over the chips.
06 - Top with black beans, cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheese. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
07 - Remove from oven. Scatter cherry tomatoes, black olives, pickled jalapeños, and chopped cilantro over the nachos.
08 - In a bowl, mash avocados with lime juice until creamy but slightly chunky. Fold in tomato, red onion, cilantro, salt, and pepper.
09 - Serve nachos immediately with guacamole and, if desired, sour cream and hot sauce on the side.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The homemade spice blend hits different than any packet seasoning
  • Layers stay crisp until the very last chip
  • That moment when cheese pulls across the entire platter
02 -
  • Don't overload each chip layer or you will get soggy spots
  • Let the beef cool slightly before piling on chips so they stay crisp
  • The guacamole needs to be made last minute or the avocado will brown
03 -
  • Warm your beans in the pan with the beef for extra flavor
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment for easy cleanup
