Chicken Club Sandwiches (Printable Version)

Triple-decker layers of seasoned chicken, crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and creamy mayonnaise on toasted bread.

# What You Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 2 chicken breasts (about 10.5 oz), cooked and sliced
02 - ½ teaspoon salt
03 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper

→ Bacon

04 - 8 slices bacon

→ Vegetables

05 - 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
06 - 8 leaves romaine lettuce

→ Bread

07 - 12 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat), toasted

→ Condiments

08 - 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
09 - 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

→ Other

10 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for toasting, optional)

# How-To:

01 - Season the cooked chicken breast slices evenly with salt and black pepper on both sides.
02 - Place bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until crispy, turning occasionally, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
03 - Lightly butter bread slices if desired. Toast in a toaster or grill pan until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
04 - Lay out 3 slices of toasted bread per sandwich. Spread mayonnaise (and mustard, if using) on one side of each slice.
05 - On the first bread slice, layer romaine lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and half of the seasoned sliced chicken.
06 - Place a second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, over the first layer. Add more lettuce, tomato slices, and 2 crispy bacon slices.
07 - Top with the third slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, pressing gently to secure the layers.
08 - Insert toothpicks at opposite corners through all layers to hold the sandwich together for easier slicing and serving.
09 - Using a sharp knife, slice each sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters. Repeat assembly for remaining sandwiches. Serve immediately while bread remains crispy.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The contrast between hot crispy bacon and cool fresh vegetables makes every bite exciting
  • Triple decker construction means you get all flavors in perfect proportion without any single ingredient overwhelming
02 -
  • Room temperature ingredients prevent the mayonnaise from seizing up when you spread it
  • Toothpicks should go in at a slight angle rather than straight down for better holding power
03 -
  • Slice tomatoes thinly and pat them dry with paper towels to prevent bread from getting soggy
  • Use a serrated knife in a gentle sawing motion for the cleanest diagonal cuts
